RE: 30 pound propane bottles

You may already have one, but an automatic change-over valve on the tanks will let you know when one of the tanks is empty without interruption of gas flow.

RE: Coleman Mach 3 PS AC troubleshooting…..

There is a difference between "run" and "start". Common applications for the start capacitor are generally limited to compressors and only to start the compressor. Typically, when a start capacitor is used, a special relay accompanies it in the circuit to disengage the start capacitor after the compressor motor gets it's initial boost in torque from the start capacitor.
The run capacitor is usually used for single-phase motors (blower/fan motors).

RE: Air conditioner tripping breaker.

116v is fine. Most 120v devices will run properly at +/- 10%...108v - 132v.

RE: Air conditioner tripping breaker.

Assuming you have another 20A breaker in your panel, swap the ac breaker with another just to see if it holds. I would also check for yourself what the actual amperage is while running your ac.

RE: Lil Red Campfire -wazzup with this?

This is more money, but it will keep you warm on a chilly night. 64000 BTUs Campfire in a can I decided to invest in one of these for a few reasons:
1) Emerald Ash Borer...not allowed to transport firewood, but if you do anyway and get caught there is a chance for big $$ fines.
2) For me when I build a fire, I build a FIRE, so I needed a large quantity of wood for the weekend which leads to #3.
3) More room in the bed of my truck for more important things. BEER
4) Less expensive...I figured with what I would spend in money, time and gas going to buy wood and hauling it around, this would pay for itself in 1 season.
5) You can turn it on and off when needed...at the end of the night just turn it off and go to bed. You need a little heat on a chilly morning to take the edge off, turn it on and light it.
A 20# tank will last me 4 nights/mornings at the cost of avg. $18. I can burn alot more $$/wood in that same amount of time.

RE: "Mommy I need to go potty NOW!"

Without having a built-in cassette potty the Thetford Electric Porty-Potty is the best! IMHO. If you don't have a spot in the camper you can always get a outside potty/shower tent.
Ditto on this. We use ours in a shower tent and Love it!

I use this for all my caulking needs but usually only find it at Home Depot: http://www.osisealants.com/products.aspx?ID=quad-window-siding-gutter-roof-sealant

RE: under floor water tank

It's a horrible design. I made the mistake of towing with it full and ended up having to get a new tank because it cracked at one of the inside corners...fill it up when you get to the campground.

RE: No drill for me!! I did get another mod done though

Keep in mind that "brand new" batteries will not hold a charge as long until they are "broke-in" a few times with recharging. They get better with age to a point.

RE: Sound Level Tests of Honda and Champion Generators

Good job! It would have been nice to see the Honda 3000 in the mix but I think you would have found the numbers on that to be the lowest.

RE: Generators? How do we choose?

I have one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Generators-Robin-SUBARU-RG3200iS-quiet-generator_W0QQitemZ350039270004QQihZ022QQcategoryZ106437QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It's less money than the Honda EU3000 and just as quiet, you get 200 more watts, comes with built-in LED Hour-Voltage-Frequency Meter, wheel kit included, load bank tested to hold surge loads of 32 amps / 3840 watts.

RE: Forest River wants my trailer back - help :-(

We have had slide issues with the bolts shearing since the day it was delivered. After numerous attempts to have it repaired and over a dozen sheared bolts they are baffled. It is always the same bolt, the one just to the left of the motor.
Forest River is handling its transportation.
We have not talked to Forest River directly – The news came from our repair shop this AM. FR had nothing more to suggest to them regarding repairs.
DH has left a message with FR to see it there is another alternative. He hasn’t heard back yet. We just want to know how hard to fight to keep our Roo in CA or is sending it back a non issue.
If the slide seems to work right up until it sheers the bolt why not put a bolt with a higher tensil strength in it just to see what would happen? It could be that it's the wrong size for it's intended use.

RE: Camp Fire In A Can / Propane Version

Hi Terry,
After much research, I purchased one several weeks ago. I have not had an opportunity to use it yet, but it does look well built. Some friends bought one at the same time I did. They tried theirs for a few minutes before they left for Florida and they seemed to like it.
The company has a " Happy Camper Guarantee" (bottom of page), so you don't have anything to loose.
Paul
Well, I went ahead and ordered one to try...I guess if I don't like it I can return it.
We do most of our camping in Indiana and Michigan and we're having issues with bringing our own firewood to some CG's because of the Ash Borer problem so they want you to buy their firewood which gets expensive, plus the fact if you do get caught bringing in your own there could be some serious fines.
Thanks for the input.

RE: Another generator question

Personally I would buy either the Honda EU3000IS or the Yamaha equivalent. It will run anything you need it to and won't disturb the neighbors.
